2022 Year in Review

Generally speaking, 2022 felt more relaxed than our 2021 itinerary. In 2021, we had several planned milestone stops, which helped set our travel schedule. However, in 2022, we were on the road for more months with fewer milestone dates. Our plans were quite ‘fluid’ (which, oftentimes, I would think ‘who ARE we right now?’).

Our Oregon stops included national park sites, an iconic mountain and a quaint beachside town. We saw several recognizable mountains in Washington. Throughout our time in the Pacific Northwest, we both remarked that Oregon and Washington are an outdoor lover’s paradise.

I always knew that California was a massive state. It’s economy is the 7th highest in the world and 1 out of 8 people in the US live in California! However, I hadn’t realized the diversity of this state including the topography, climate and the wide variety of people until our visit.

We sold our Michigan home on August 14 and spent the next 4 months exploring by car, foot and bicycle. Our stops included parks, live music venues (large and small), big cities, small towns, tourist traps, wilderness areas and so much more.
